End-of-Year Banquet 2011

Our banquet theme this year was Girl Scouts Around the World.  Since our troop is soooo large we decided to do all 4 countries that make up The United Kingdom.

At the meeting before the banquet we learned about the 4 countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.   We had tea (with real sugar cubes!) and saw Irish step dancing and bagpipe and drum bands and made fabulous swaps for this event.

Ellen Trout Zoo

April 9, 2011 could not have been a more beautiful day for our trip to the zoo!  We had a ton of fun as we looked at and learned about various animals! Despite everyone's very busy schedules, a bit over half of the troop got to attend.  :)

Powderpuff Derby & SFA Ladyjack game

Today was filled with exciting Girl Scout events!  First, the Powderpuff Derby held at the mall this morning, where I believe 11 of our troop members raced in either the Daisy or the Brownie races.  :)  Then, this evening we had the official Girl Scout game night for the SFA Ladyjack Basketball team.  A Girl Scout sang the National Anthem and the Green Starlettes performed during the half-time show.  Wow!  What a day!
