Veteran's Day Parade, November 6, 2010

18 of our darling Girl Scouts marched in today's parade honoring Veterans.

Our gorgeous patches!

Happy Birthday, Juliette Gordon Low!

We celebrated the birthday of the founder of Girl Scouting in America, Juliette Gordon Low, on Friday, October 29th.  Her actual birthday is Halloween day!

Fall Product Sales 2010

This was our first year to participate in the GSSJC's Fall Product Sale.  The patches are incredibly cute and the goodies that I've tried anyway have been scrumptious!

Thanks to the hard work of our girls and their families, our troop was able to earn money for fun events and patches!

October Meetings and Service Project

We had such fun at our meeting on October 7th.  We met our new college co-leaders and finished up our first service project of the year.  Breier Galan, a high school Girl Scout, is working on her gold award and requested donations of sewing goods for a group of women she will be teaching to sew.  I am so proud of the generosity of our girls!  We made some fall paper crafts and turned in all our Fall Product orders at this meeting, too!

Caddo Culture Day

Our first official outing of the new Girl Scouting year was to Alto, Texas to attend Caddo Culture Day on October 2nd.  Six members of our troop were able to attend.  We danced and drummed and experienced many kinds of Native American crafts.   We even had a little "dig" to discover artifacts! We walked to the burial mound and explored the little museum and shop.  The girls  had a bit of homework to do and then earned their "Native American Heritage" patch!

Rally Day 2010

We had a safety theme for Rally Day this year.  The girls had a ball learning cool things at the various stations, not to mention eating sno-cones and popcorn!  A good time was had by all!
