Emergency! Emergency!

Our troop is fabulous for many reasons.  There are the girls, of course, who are all things darling and delightful.  And then there are the moms.  Our troop has some seriously fantastic moms.  From our troop treasurer, Ms. Seana, to our cookie mom, Ms. Heather and all the moms who work so hard to get their daughters to and from our meetings, supply us with yummy snacks and just support us in every way.  Thanks to mom and EMT Ms. Lisa for setting up our Emergency Services Day event!

March 4th the parking lot of Mike Moses Middle School was covered with emergency vehicles of all types!  We had a firetruck (with an incredibly tall ladder!), an ambulance, and cars from both the city police and the sheriff's department.  Of course, all the vehicles had the real-life superheroes who use them there to talk with the girls about their jobs and equipment. I'm sure the squeals and cheers of the girls could be heard for miles as the girls earned their "Respect Authority" petals.

World Thinking Day

World Thinking Day was in February and our troop celebrated it at our meeting on the 18th.  The theme this year dealt with world hunger and poverty--tough issues for little Daisies to understand.  I attempted to make a short video--sadly, my skills were a bit lacking, so their little voices were cut off mid-message.  I'll post it anyway so you can get the idea once I figure out how to get blogger to allow me to do that...I may need to link it to youtube and go from there...update later!
