Make the world a better place!

We earned our rose colored petal at our last official December meeting.  The "Make the world a better place" petal was earned by discussing ways people can make the world a better place and then making pinecone birdfeeders.  A couple of our little cutie-patootiesworked on an oh-so-fabulous collage on the topic.
After making our crafts and eating some scrumptious cupcakes and punch we read the beginning of our Flower Garden story about cookie sales and then earned patches were handed out.

The Nutcracker

A Merry Christmas Eve to all the darling girls of the troop and their families!

Many members of our troop were able to attend the Great Russian Ballet's performance of the Nutcracker at Stephen F. Austin State University's Turner Auditorium.  The dancers were simply amazing and the story a timeless classic.

A wonderful time was had by all as we earned our beautiful Nutcracker fun patches!

SWAPs

We added a meeting this month (thanks, Moms, for being so flexible in the midst of this busy holiday season!) to make our troops 1st SWAPs (Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere) in preparation for the upcoming pajama party.  We met at the  Mike Moses library and painted puzzle pieces gold and silver.  We also snacked on popcorn while we watched Barbie's Nutcracker movie, and colored pictures of a nutcracker (with scented markers, no less!)

"Honest and Fair"

We met on December 3rd to earn our light blue "Honest and Fair" petal.  The girls made really cute Christmas doorhangers, wrote letters to Santa (which Santa is kind enough to help Macy's out and donate money to children with these particular letters!), and discussed what it means to be honest and fair.  The girls really understood "fair" when one of the girls was given a TON of cutsies to put on her doorhanger, while the others were given only one or two.  The other Daisy girls looked positively stricken, and one of them finally said..."well that's not fair!  She got practically all of them!"  YES!!!!  We divided them up fairly and a great time was had by all!

our sweet friendship circle!
